This Mid-day Tour offers an enjoyable Swamp tour in combination with a tour of one of three remarkable plantation homes. Pickup from Most New Orleans Area hotels begins at 10:30am and continues for 30 minutes. Return Time is 5:30PM.
First stop - the beautiful Manchac Swamp where you'll enjoy a tour of our privately owned swamp. This swamp is occupied only by Cajun Pride boats which means fewer distractions during your tour and an impressive amount of alligator and other wildlife found in this eco-system.
Our boat is covered and comfortable with opening viewing and the ability to stand and walk around which allows for more photo opportunities and full viewing of the beauty and excitement of the swamp.
Then, we'll bring to to the plantation of your choice: Laura, Oak Alley or St. Joseph Plantation. (We do ask that you confirm your choice when making your reservation for our planning purposes.)
Oak Alley Plantation - Buit in 1837-39. It is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced Live Oak trees, believed to be at least 100 years older than the big house.
Laura Plantation -Built in 1805. Let the "memoirs of Laura" transport you into the live of this plantation's Creole men, women, slaves and children.
St. Joseph - Take a walk through time as you enjoy a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the many interesting people who have called this plantation "Home." The birthplace of H. H. Richardson, one of America's most important architects of the 19th century. |
